The Australian ladies team were the 3rd of the Aussie teams on court and proved to be the 3rd of the Aussies who managed to retain their world title status!

The Aussie skipper, and legandary indoor cricketer, Jude Coleman and the in-form Ash Doble were nominated by coach Donna Dalby to seek to silence the local crowd by getting the Aussies off to a good start in the World Cup finals v NZ on their home court at Hutt Indoor Sports (Wellington).

A solid start was needed by the high-quality pair and it was received. Only 4 off the first, however the pair got moving quickly to end their partnership on 29. Martin & Koski then matched this 29 to have the Aussies well placed, but a few shy of where they would have wanted to be with 58 after 12 overs. Polkinghorne & Carson storde to the crease confident of runs and 24 more were added. A big final 4 overs were need by the Aussies and this was delivered in emphatic style with Iles & Kemp taking to the Kiwi attack to post 49 for the last pair and get Australia to a very challenging 131.

The score was always going to be tough, however the fielding and bowling on display by the Aussies showed the world why they are the #1 team in the world. No NZ player was able to settle and with pair scores of 17, 18, 4 & 22, the Kiwis would only manage a paltry 61. The Aussie ladies team win the World Cup again - keeping up their upbeaten record at the World Cup that stems back to 1998!

Aussies 3 from 3 wins at the World Cup following the win - with just the Men to try to bring home a clean sweep.
